About the Guest Speaker

“Why is this so hard?” Managing your professional identity crisis!

We welcome Lynn Felker, CVA, who will bring her many years of experience, as well as her trademark humour, to talk to us about why our roles as volunteer engagement professionals can be so challenging and how we can establish boundaries to help us stay focused on the core of what we need to do to stay healthy and advance volunteerism.

Lynn Felker is an enthusiastic volunteer engagement professional based in Brantford, Ontario. Lynn has spent the past 15 years working with spiritual, historical and health care organizations helping unpaid individuals connect with their passions. Lynn is past president of the Brantford Regional Association of Volunteer Administrators (BRAVA) and has spoken at various AVA’s in Ontario on the topics of resilience, change and advocating for volunteers and volunteer management professionals.

In 2022 Lynn was honoured to be the recipient of the Linda Buchanan Award for her leadership in volunteerism. After achieving the designation of CVA in 2016 Lynn was motivated to develop her personal mission statement, “Volunteers are not chairs, I am not a tree, and it was never about the ham.”
